Team Roping
How do you go about starting Team Roping and Barrel racing Jackpots?
We are looking to start a winter series of team roping and barrel racing, and I have heard that more people will come to a roping or barrel race that has money added. How does that work? Does that come out of our pocket, or should we look at getting sponsers? This is all the hubbys idea, so I am totally lost of where to even start! Any ideas????
Unless you find sponsers, then the beginning pot comes out of your pocket. You can charge $25-$50 per entry with a 25% add back to the jack pot. So, IF you put up $100.00 plus an add back and say you only get a turnout of 5 riders at $25.00 a pop, you won’t even make your jack pot money back. Also remember to have food/drinks on hand because I’ll tell you, it’s a bummer when you go roping and there’s only beer in somebody’s cooler to buy.
