Can a dressage coat be used in English showmanship?
I’m considering trying some English showmanship. I already do dressage and have a typical black coat (not a shadbelly like Grand Prix riders) that was intended for dressage. I understand that you usually have to wear a hunt coat in English showmanship. Would this dressage coat be an acceptable substitute for a hunt coat?
Is this just a local show or something rated? You should be just fine in a black coat (as opposed to a navy or pinstriped one) for any local shows. You might check the rule book for anything larger.
