Apple flavored bute powder?
My horse Cotton got injured early this morning. She stepped in a hole (that was just made thanks to the idiots that dug the lines to put in some water lines and didnt cover the holes up completely), a foot deep hole, and got a hair line fracture to her back right leg. My vet gave me bute for her and is going to come back again on wednesday and do an ultrasound and then we will go from there.
She refuses to take the bute. I have tried everything I can think of but she doesnt like the paste. I want to try the apple flavored bute powder but my vet wont order it and by the time he would get some she would be off of it.
So is there somewhere I can get this without having to go through my vet?

Its paste….
If you can’t get anything else, you can always use Blackstrap Molasses. It’s like the molasses they use in sweet feed but you can usually buy it in a grocery store (like a Wal-Mart Supercenter)At least here in the South you can!!. I used to keep a can of it on hand all the time when my TN Walking Horse was on Bute for Navicular problems. I just crushed the Bute into the molasses & mixed it into a little sweet feed & he thought it was a special treat. Best of luck & will be praying for you & Cotton
